- Passport. US citizens need a valid passport to enter Saint Lucia. Confirm current validity rules on travel.state.gov.
- Entry stamp. You need a valid immigration entry stamp (or ship pass for cruise weddings) as part of the marriage-licence paperwork.
- Flights. Most US travelers connect through a Caribbean hub or fly seasonal nonstops into UVF (Hewanorra). Build buffer time for the south-island drive to many resorts.

- Fees. Attorney General's Chambers FAQ cites EC$500 ordinary / EC$700 urgent applications under Order No. 158 of 2024. The older govt.lc portal figures may be outdated — use the Chambers figures and confirm.
- Timing. No long residency period is stated on the sources we checked; expedited licences exist for applications one day or less before. Still leave document buffer for divorce decrees and travel delays.
- Resort packages. Sandals and other brands run St. Lucia wedding programs; licence/admin fees are often extra on "free" packages. Confirm legal vs symbolic in writing.
